We are seeking a Software Engineering Architect to lead a team in designing, delivering, and supporting technology platforms at Thrive.  Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work at the cutting-edge of the cancer diagnostics industry and expand their skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. This is a high-impact role that will work to provide both strategic and operational excellence while helping to develop the overall technology strategy at a premier healthcare company.   • Collaborate with platform owner on requirements and priorities to ensure constant delivery of software and value creation for Thrive
  • Accountable for all project technical decisions, system security and delivery
  • Accountable for the production runtime operation and support of platforms in the cloud
  • Accountable for the effective collaboration and oversight of 5-8 person outsourced technical team.
  • Actively participate and help to drive the overall Thrive strategic technology roadmap
  • Deliver exceptional software by coding 20+ hours per week.


  • ~15-20+ years of experience in custom software development
  • Comfortable with most popular software languages and technology stacks
  • Deep experience in designing and deploying highly scalable cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, Google)
  • Strong hands-on experience with DevOps and cloud automation
  • Experience in designing and deploying systems leveraging a micro-service architecture
  • Advanced understanding in the design and operation of highly secure custom software solutions
  • Ability to teach others on advanced Agile practices
  • ~5+ years of experience in leading globally dispersed software teams is preferred
  • Advanced understanding in the use of Apache Spark for data processing and machine learning is a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of the IT control requirements for HIPAA, GDPR and FDA regulations is nice to have
  • Familiarity with LIMS, NGS, clinical and diagnostic test development is preferred
  • Multiple years of direct management experience and expertise in associate professional development is a plus
